The Liberty Rub Co. began with a simple belief:

They’re made in the smoke of a backyard cookout. Around a table surrounded by family and friends. In the laughter, the stories, the cold drinks, the crackling fire, and the first bite of something cooked with care.

For founder Steven Mulewich, food has always been about more than simply eating. It’s about bringing people together.

But The Liberty Rub Co. wasn’t built overnight.

It was built from an idea, a passion for bold flavor, and the determination to create something of his own. It was built during the late nights, the planning, the testing, the research, the uncertainty, and the countless small steps that turn an idea into something real.

That journey became The Founding Flavor.

Our first signature rub was created to be bold, versatile, and worthy of a place at every backyard grill. A flavor designed for the moments that matter—from burgers and steaks to chicken, pork, and everything in between.

But the name The Founding Flavor means more than being our first product.
